Brighten Your Smile With Teeth Whitening

There are many different methods for whitening your teeth. Virtually every teeth whitening method except whitening toothpaste is based on one chemical. That chemical is a special kind of peroxide. All whitening solutions can only whiten the enamel on natural teeth. If you have some crowns or fillings as part of your smile you still have the option to replace those to match your newly whitened natural teeth. We offer and recommend KöR Whitening.

Whitening toothpaste does not contain any peroxide and therefore does not possess the same “whitening” qualities that the other products on this page contain. One toothpaste sales representative told us that the only reason these toothpastes can even call themselves “whitening” toothpastes is because they have particles in them that are more abrasive to teeth and therefore may remove some surface enamel that has been stained. In our office, we would much rather lighten the color of stained enamel than remove it by recommending abrasive toothpastes! In fact, we have had many patients who have complained of tooth sensitivity after using whitening toothpastes. We do not recommend these products for their teeth whitening qualities and they do not have the ADA seal of approval for whitening.

To our knowledge, these have not been proven to be effective teeth whitening products at all and they do not have the ADA seal of approval for teeth whitening.

For Take Home Whitening custom made trays are fabricated in our office for your teeth and then a solution is placed in the trays and worn either during the day or at night while you sleep.
We offer two options for our KöR Take Home Whitening system. There is a Daytime solution that is worn for 30 minutes during the day or a Nighttime solution that is worn for a few hours during the day or while you sleep. The nighttime solution is a bit stronger and designed more for darker colored teeth. The process takes an average of 2 weeks at home.
A storybook wedding, an important job interview, a graduation, easing a lifetime of embarrassment, or maybe you just want a whiter smile. People sometimes have a special reason for whitening their teeth.
The KöR In-office Whitening system uses a proprietary Dual-Activated™, Tri-Barrel Hydremide® Peroxide formulation and delivery system. KöR is widely recognized as the world’s most effective whitening system – with no need for lights or lasers.
Your roughly 2 hour visit will consist of 3 applications of the whitening solution in the office for a whiter smile.

For darker teeth or tetracycline staining we recommend combination therapy. We start with an In-office conditioning visit lasting about an hour, then 6-8 weeks of take home custom tray nighttime whitening followed by a final In-office whitening visit. Periodic at-home yearly maintenance is recommended.
